Bringing Hope to Heroes

For 21 years I served my community as a police officer, and since 2015 I've devoted my life to visiting brave children and doing whatever I can to bring them joy, courage, and strength as they fight battles no child should ever face.

Meet Damon Cole

My name is Damon Cole, and for 21 years, I proudly served as a police officer. But somewhere along the way, a new mission found me—one far beyond the badge.

Since 2015, I've traveled to 41 states and internationally, meeting thousands of brave kids fighting battles no child should have to face. Dressed as Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, or one of the many other superheroes I portray, I show up not just in costume, but with purpose.

Each visit is personal. Each child leaves with a "superpower dog tag," infused with a simple but powerful promise—to never give up.

Stories of Hope

Every visit creates a moment of magic. Here are just a few of the incredible children and families who have touched my heart and shown me what true heroism looks like.

Erikah

"I want to thank you so much for visiting my daughter today. She is still talking about her visit from Batman. It was the highlight of her stay here. Erikah has been hospitalized countless times since she was born, receiving a liver transplant at nine months old and battling multiple illnesses ever since due to her immunity lowering medication. She also has to learn how to navigate the world differently than others as well since she is autistic also. She never sees herself as a hero, since her battle is all she knows. We had to explain to her what you meant when you told her she was a hero. That made her think about herself in new light. People like yourselves, who are so giving of their time and thoughtful of others...you are the reason parents can bear watching their children fight their fight. You bring light and love to families who are in a dark place. Thank you so very much for what you do. You are truly making a difference in the world, and I'm grateful my daughter could be a part of that."

From her mother Chalea

Matthew

"Thank you for fulfilling one of Matthew's last wishes. When you walked into his room as Batman, he jumped up with excitement despite having very limited energy. It was a moment I will never forget. Your visit brought so much joy to our family during the most difficult time of our lives."

From his father Frank Quiroz

Cincinnati Children's Hospital

"Hi Damon, Just wanted to say thank you again for all the smiles you brought to the many faces of our patients and families here at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Hopefully we will see you again in the future! Have a great holiday!"

From Lisa, Operations Coordinator

Michael's Message

"Dear Sir, Thank you for making the trip to Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore Medical Center today. I had the pleasure of shaking your hand and meeting you very briefly. You are true an American Hero and an example of someone that truly goes above and beyond the call of the duty to enrich the lives of others. I was reading your bio and your story is so inspiring. My wife is a pediatric oncologist at the hospital and her entire team was over the moon that your visited with some very special children today. Thank you for selfless commitment to serving others. Best regards to you and your family and safe travels home."

From Michael

Isaac

"I wanted to thank you for visiting East Tennessee Children's Hospital last week. My son Isaac had his second cochlear implant surgery and was so excited to see 'Batman' on his way out of the hospital. Batman is his favorite superhero and he has talked about meeting you for days. He said 'see Mom superheroes are real'."

From his mother Pamela

Myles' Special Visit

"Damon Cole made a special visit to our friend Myles this morning! Stay tuned to see what sweet surprise he'll share! When Damon Cole arrived at Myles' home on a snowy winter day, his excitement was contagious. The collaboration between local heroes and law enforcement brought an unforgettable moment of joy to this brave young fighter. Myles couldn't contain his smile as his favorite heroes spent time with him, proving that sometimes the best medicine is knowing you're not alone in your battle."

From Make-A-Wish Nebraska

Tyler

"Tyler has been fighting leukemia for two years, and some days are harder than others. But the day you visited as Spider-Man was pure magic. He laughed for the first time in weeks and kept asking when his 'superhero friend' would come back. You reminded us all that there's still joy to be found, even in the darkest times."

From his grandmother Maria

Sarah's Family

"When Batman walked into Sarah's room, she couldn't believe her eyes. She had been so scared about her upcoming surgery, but after your visit, she kept saying 'Batman believes in me, so I can be brave too.' You gave her the courage she needed to face her treatment. We can never thank you enough for that gift."

From her parents Jennifer & David

Children's Hospital Staff

"In all my years working in pediatric oncology, I've never seen anything quite like the impact of your visits. The children light up, the families find hope, and even our medical staff gets emotional watching the magic happen. You don't just visit patients - you heal hearts and restore faith in humanity."

From Dr. Amanda Rodriguez, Pediatric Oncologist
